Double Standard at The Standard, London has become a go-to spot for iconic comfort food takeovers. From Morley’s in 2023 to Gasoline Grill in 2024, and Pecking House popping up this summer, the terrace has served up cult favorites from around the world.
Pecking House
On July 31, the heat will come straight from NYC to King’s Cross. Double Standard will play host to Pecking House, the cult fried chicken spot from chef Eric Huang, bringing unapologetically bold flavors and crispy, chili-slicked goodness to London. Guests will dig into juicy Chinatown Chicken Sandwiches with pork floss, spice-dusted fries, and chili fried chicken dripping in duck fat chili oil—plus a little London flair with vegan Mapo Tofu and smashed cucumbers. Even late-night cravings will be sorted, with chili tenders and chicken sandwiches served up via in-room dining, no queue required.

Gasoline Grill
In 2024, Copenhagen’s cult smash burger joint, Gasoline Grill, made its London debut at Double Standard. For four weeks, the terrace served up their viral burgers for the very first time outside Denmark—complete with smash classics like The Original, a fiery Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and a special Surf & Turf made just for The Standard. Guests loaded up on crinkle-cut fries, dug into weekend brunch plates like Hot Chicken Waffles and Blueberry Pancakes, and washed it all down with an ice-cold Strawberry and Jalapeño Michelada made with Two Tribes Lager.
Morley’s
Morley’s took over Double Standard for a fried chicken pop-up with a twist. Teaming up with The Standard and Heinz, the South London favorite served up their signature chicken with a playful, unexpected spin. Guests got stuck into Combo Meals with ketchup salt, chicken drumsticks topped with caviar and truffle mayo, and towering stacks of wings with chips and Heinz sauces. Chicken and waffles got a hot honey makeover, desserts came loaded with caramelised apple donuts and ketchup sherbet sundaes, and drinks ranged from frozen mango margaritas to boozy Coke floats. To top it off, guests could take a little bit of the fun home with limited-edition Morley’s x Heinz Fried Chicken Sauce.
